Special Projects Director

Creative responsibility for advertising department special projects, including Macy's web site, Sales Promotion Department Intranet site, direct marketing, marketing proposals, multimedia presentations, credit marketing, package design, speech writing. Responsible for department budget, team of designers, copywriters, traffic personnel and outside resources. Member of Executive Creative Committee and Intranet Planning Team. Headed Passport Fashion Show Advertising Committee. Field tested new computer hardware and software prior to departmental implementation.

Accomplishments

Responsible for all creative aspects of Macy's web site and increased Christmas web site revenues by more than 600% from the previous year.

As a member of Macy's Intranet Planning Committee responsibilities included planning, developing and implementing production and workflow systems, and managing the creative content of the Advertising Sales Promotion intranet site.

Conceived and implemented e-Club - an online automatic replenishment service. Macy's was the first major retailer to offer this service online.
e-Club has been a resounding success and has generated positive publicity.

Copy Chief/Copy Director

Responsible for generating concepts and copy
for print media including newspaper, magazine and direct mail.

Directed pilot creative team responsible for implementing multi-million dollar in-house pre-press production system.

1981-1985 - Mervyn's, Hayward, California

Copy Chief/Broadcast Writer/Producer

Conceived, wrote and produced television and radio advertising. Production responsibilities included broadcast pre-production, production and post-production coordination. Produced casting, recording, mixing and
editing sessions.

Supervised staff of 15-17 copywriters for
print advertising.
